Setup
- Players: 3 to 15.
- Imposters: up to half the players. One is best for new groups.
- Hint: on gives the imposter one related word. Off gives them only the category, which is much harder.
Your card
Hold the button to see your card. Let go and it hides.
- Crew see the secret word.
- Imposters see IMPOSTER and a hint. The hint helps them bluff, never guess. For Dog it might be "collar" or "walk".
- Everyone sees the category at the top. It isn't secret.
What crew see, while holding
Bluffing
The imposter knows the category and one hint, nothing else. Their job is to sound like they know the word. Crew have the opposite problem: too obvious and the imposter learns the word, too vague and you look guilty.
What the imposter sees, while holding
The vote
Talk it over, then everyone points at once on three. Most votes is out. The box doesn't run the vote; you do.
If the imposter is voted out but can name the secret word, they win anyway. Decide before you start whether you're playing with it.
Reveal, the end of a round
Reveal
Tap Reveal to see the word and exactly who the imposters were.
You vote out every imposter.
They survive the vote, or name the word.
New game keeps your setup and deals a fresh word. No word repeats within 16 rounds.
